Battalion Commander

C/MAJ S. D'Orazio

This position is the most demanding in a cadet battalion. The instructors select the cadet for this position based upon demonstrated leadership ability and academic standing. The appointed cadet must be able to apply common sense and judgment in the solving of problems that affect the entire cadet corps. The battalion commander must be mature, willing to accept responsibility, be able to effectively delegate authority and supervise subordinates. The battalion commander controls the staff through the battalion executive officer and the companies through the company commanders, while maintaining the final approval authority in the cadet chain of command.

Battalion XO

C/1LT C. Corscadden

The cadet battalion executive officer (XO) supervises, directs, and coordinates the cadet battalion staff to prevent overlapping efforts and to ensure that the commander’s desires are understood and achieved. The cadet battalion XO keeps the staff informed of the commander’s policies and keeps the cadet battalion commander informed of the status of projects assigned to the staff. The cadet battalion XO assumes command of the cadet battalion in the absence of the cadet battalion commander.

Battalion Sergeant Major

C/MSG J. Zolecki

Principle advisor to the commander on the state of morale, discipline and training of cadets within the Battalion. Works with Battalion to ensure that correct information regarding training, special events ect... is passed up and down the chain of command and Cadets improve their professional appearance both in uniform and of ROTC facilities and equipment. CSM also oversees the training and performance of the Color Guard at special events, ensures formations and drill/ceremony are executed in accordance with FM 3-22.5, runs the flag duty detail, fosters unit morale and attends weekly Battalion command and staff meetings and preforms all other duties as assigned by the Battalion Commander.

Staff

Cadet Battalion Adjutant (S-1)

C/SGT J. Crosbie

Principal staff officer for all matters concerning human resources including personnel readiness, personnel services and headquarters management. Provides administrative support for the battalion. Prepares and maintains unit strength reports, rosters and records. Receives operational control of any special project committees as directed by the commander.

Cadet Battalion Operations Officer (S-3)

C/1LT J. Tovar

Principal staff officer responsible for all matters concerning training operations and planning. Organizes and supervises the conduct of all Cadet training. Allocates resources to insure the accomplishment of all missions. Prepares Operations Orders, training schedules and memorandum to facilitate battalion training and operations. Ensures all battalion classes and training sessions are rehearsed by instructors and assistant instructors prior to execution. Serves on event staff for planning and conducting battalion training events.

Assistant to the battalion S-3.

Cadet Battalion Supply Officer (S-4)

C/1LT J. Sugalski

Primary Staff Officer responsible for coordinating the logistics integration of supply, maintenance, transportation and services for the battalion. Coordinates for, receives, distributes and controls supplies and equipment for training. Conducts inventories and maintains a continuous working knowledge of on hand supplies and equipment within the battalion.

Cadet Public Affairs Officer (S-5)

C/MSG H. Stenberg

Responsible for enhancing the relationship between military forces and civilian authorities to include campus staff and faculty, public information internal information, community relations, written publications, photographs and related duties as required. Specifically responsible for the written material, consolidation and publication of the battalion newsletter.
